So What Alternative Treatments Are Available For Tinnitus?
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one way to try and help relieve your tinnitus. This is not a new method of alternative therapy, and indeed you may already have had an acupuncture session for some other ailment.
In terms of cost, acupuncture can be very cheap per session, and many people find that they only need a couple of sessions to get the relief they want to experience.
Of course, this involves needles, so if they are not your thing, then it might be wise to avoid this method. Although many people have experienced a positive effect after an acupuncture session, it is again no guarantee that you will experience the relief you want. Success is always variable from one person to the next.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis has been shown to work for many conditions, both medical, and self inflicted (smoking being the major one). There is no doubt that for some people, hypnosis works perfectly. It doesn’t ‘cure’ your tinnitus issues, but it can help you to push the sounds to the back of your mind so that you can concentrate on other things – like your life!
Having said that, hypnosis makes no difference for some people. Just like those who want to quit smoking with the help of a hypnotherapist and fail, tinnitus sufferers have to run that same gauntlet. The good thing is that a reputable hypnotherapist should not cost too much money to try out, and if you are susceptible to hypnosis, the results can change the way you live your life.
